O Allah! If I fall into doubt in my faith in You
and I am unaware of it, I beg forgiveness for it and I say
Laa Ilaha Ill'Allah Muhammad-u'r-Rasulullah
Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam
(There is none to be worshipped but Allah
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah)
O Allah! If I begin to deny my Islam (total submission to You)
and I am unaware of it, I beg forgiveness for it and I say
Laa Ilaha Ill'Allah Muhammad-u'r-Rasulullah
Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam
O Allah! If I enter into doubt in my belief in One God, You Only
and I am unaware of it, I beg forgiveness for it and I say

O Allah! Whenever I have fallen short in my hope and expectation in You

to be of help in my hardship

from someone other than You
and I am unaware of it, I beg forgiveness for it and I say

O Allah! If my feet have slipped from a path other than Yours
and I unaware of it, I beg forgiveness for it and I say

O Allah! Whenever You corrected my mistakes with Your Grace
and I thought it was someone else doing it
and I am unaware of it, I beg forgiveness for it and I say
Laa Ilaha Ill'Allah Muhammad-u'r-Rasulullah
Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam
O The Ever Living! The Eternal!
There is none to be worshipped but You
Sanctity be to You; surely, I acted improperly
Then We responded to his prayer
and delivered him from the grief
and thus We save the believers
And Zakaria, when he called his Lord:
O my Lord! Leave me not childless,
and You are the Best Inheritor. (21:87-89)
And may the blessings of Allah, The Exalted,
be on His best creation, Muhammad,
and on his family, and his companions, and his wives, all of them.
With Your Mercy, O The Most Merciful

Ibn Abbas reported, The Prophet, peace be upon him, at times of sorrow and grief used to supplicate, La ilaha illa Allah Al-Azim, Al-Alim, la ilaha illa Allah, Rabbul arshil Azim, la ilaha illa Allahu, Rabbus-Samawati wa rabbul ardi wa rabbul arshi karim (There is no god but Allah, the Mighty, the Forbearing, there is no god but Allah, the Lord of the mighty throne, there is no god but Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and the Lord of the throne of honor).

Umm Salamah (ra) said, Allaah's Messenger (saw) never left my house except that he raised his sight to the sky and said, Allahumma innee a'oodhu bika an adil aw udal, aw azil aw uzal, aw azlima aw uslam, aw ajhal aw yujhal 'aleeyy (O Allaah I seek refuge in you from leading others astray and being led astray, from causing others to slip and being made to slip, from oppressing others or being oppressed and from making others ignorant, and being kept ignorant. We attribute all goodness to You. We are grateful to You and refuse to be ungrateful to You. We abandon and forsake all those who reject You. O Allah, You alone we worship, unto You alone we pray; unto You alone we prostrate, and for You alone we strive. Unto You alone we flee for refuge. We cherish hope in Your mercy and we fear Your retribution. Verily, Your punishment is bound to catch up with those who reject the truth. *
